The debut album by young Danish/Hungarian organist Davy Bendix Nilsen, born in 1993, combines works by J.S. Bach and Prt. By combining the works of two musicians with seemingly different musical approaches, listeners will hear surprising similarities between German Baroque and 20th century Estonian music. The listener will enjoy the deep spirituality shared by Bach's "Chorale Preludes" and Prt's "Mirror in the Mirror," as well as the high technical skill of Bach's "Concerto," an arrangement of a Vivaldi work for the organ. Davy Bendix Nilsen is organist at St. Mark's Church (Copenhagen) and teaches at the Royal Danish Academy of Music. He is also a highly acclaimed organist in Denmark, having received the Leonie Sonning Talent Award in 2018 and being selected as a Young Cultural Elite Scholar of the Danish Arts Foundation from 2022 to 2023.
