Description:
Barenboim presents the Beethoven project "Beethoven for All" to the world. The third volume is a collection of piano concertos conducted and performed by Barenboim himself. Accompaniment is the Staatsoper Orchestra Berlin. Barenboim is one of the greatest pianists of our time, and this is the second collection of piano concertos that he has conducted! He made his debut as a pianist at the age of 7. He is still very active as a pianist while leading a busy life as a conductor. This collection of piano concertos was recorded at the 2007 Ruhr Piano Festival in Bochum, Germany, and is a rare performance of Beethoven's works in which Barenboim plays both conductor and piano soloist.Barenboim recorded the complete Beethoven piano concertos with Klemperer as accompanist and conductor, and later conducted Rubinstein as soloist and conductor. In 1985, he recorded the complete works with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra. Universal Music/IMS
