Luigi Cherubini (1760-1842):.Included in the recording.Sonata No. 1 in F major/Sonata No.2 in C major/Sonata No.3 in B-flat major/Sonata No.4 in G major/Sonata No.5 in D major/Sonata No.6 in E flat majorPerformerChiara Cattani (harpsichord)This is a collection of sonatas for harpsichord composed by Cherubini in the late 18th century, when the fortepiano invented by Bartolomeo Cristofori was gaining popularity and keyboard instruments were at a turning point. This is the only solo work for keyboard left by Cherubini, who is known for his opera "Medea", Requiem, and Symphony. This sonata collection is now considered to be Cherubini's first published work, and each piece, in two movements in sonata form and rondo form, follows strict formal norms, but has an amazing variety of character and extraordinary brilliance in the themes and their development, proving that Cherubini was a mature composer at a very young age. The result is proof that Cherubini was a mature composer at a young age.Chiara Cuttani is a keyboardist with a solid presence in today's Italian classical music scene, having participated in Roberto Noferini's "Torelli: Concerto Concerto Op.8 (complete)" (OTC652090/TC652090), which was nominated for the ICMA (International Classical Music Award) in 2024. He is one of the most prominent keyboard players in Italian classical music today. He continues to explore various repertoire with his duo partner Noferini and harpsichordist Silvia Rambaldi, and is also very active as a conductor.*Recording: July 2021, Studio Cattani (Faenza, Italy)Instrument used: copy of a Tuscan model two-stage keyboard harpsichord by Gianfranco Facchini Ravenna, made in 1983(Tokyo M-Plus)
