Red Wine: 2015 | Nicolis Angelo | Amarone della Valpolicella Classico
Deep dark ruby red which gradually turns into garnet. On the nose it is complex, harmonious, and elegant, with notes of dried fruit, jam, underbrush, walnut husk, and leather. The taste is balanced, rich, delicate, austere and long-lasting.

Reviews:
- Wine Advocate: The 2015 Amarone della Valpolicella Classico offers a terrific glimpse of the Nicolis house style that is bright, clean and contemporary all at once. This is a 25,000-bottle blend of 65% Corvina, 20% Rondinella, 5% Molinara and 10% Croatina that sees three months of appassimento. This wine stands apart from its peers for the quality and the shiny brightness of its cherry, raspberry and dark currant aromas. That fruit is amply framed by spice, sweet almond, cola and candied fruit. It is a pleasure to recommend this wine thanks to its steady and balanced delivery.
- James Suckling: A thoroughly delicious Amarone with rich, ripe red fruit and soft tannins that caress your palate. Its full-bodied and layered with dried cherries, berries, chocolate and hints of hazelnuts. Juicy and savory. Flavorful finish. Drink or hold.
Producer Information
Azienda Agricola Nicolis lies in San Pietro In Cariano, in the heart of Valpolicella Classica. With 49 hectars (121 acres) of vineyards, Nicolis family has passed on the art of viticulture for generations. After years of wine production for family consumption, in 1951 Angelo Nicolis, together with his wife Natalia, began to invest in the company for a wider market. The care of the land is part of our everyday life, since our childhood. Its a sensibility and dedication transmitted by the father Angelo, who converted his passion in sophisticated winemaking, and the mother Natalia, who has always been the point of reference of the entire family with her faith and dedication. Throughout the years the winery has been managed by two of eight children: Giancarlo with the attention for the vineyards, and Giuseppe, practicing genuine and fine winemaking. Today the winery business is driven by Giuseppe, who is passing on his two children Angelo and Sofia the art of producing elegant wine with respect of the environment.
