Stewart Goodyear, Andrew Constantine, BBC National Orchestra of Wales
Description:
He has released a series of new recordings on the ORCHID CLASSICS and STEINWAY labels. Stewart Goodyear is an up-and-coming pianist who also shows his unique talent as a composer. This time, to commemorate the 250th anniversary of Beethoven's birth in 2020, he performs the complete piano concertos with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales under the baton of Andrew Constantine. In No. 2, the first to be completed, the orchestra plays Mozart-like music with great lightness, and in No. 1, which already expresses Beethoven's personality, the beauty of the slow second movement is impressive. In No. 3, the dramatic change of scene in the last movement is brilliant, and in No. 4, the main focus is on the intimate dialogue between piano and orchestra, culminating in the magnificent No. 5. Please fully enjoy this wonderful performance that combines character portrayal and skillful technique for each piece. Naxos Japan
